Helping You Make Sleep Less Scary

I’m Tony Ho, a sleep therapist and social worker based in Vancouver. I’ve made it my mission to help people and organizations tackle sleep problems head-on. Why? Because I’ve seen how life-changing good sleep can be, and I know how frustrating it is when sleep feels out of reach.

How I Got Here

My path to becoming a sleep specialist wasn’t exactly a straight line. After getting my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Victoria, I worked in all sorts of mental health settings. Something kept popping up: so many people struggling with stress, anxiety, or depression were also having a tough time sleeping. It was like a lightbulb moment – maybe if we focused on helping people sleep better, we could make everything else a bit easier too.

Digging into Sleep Science

This realization pushed me to dive deep into sleep science. I focused on mastering Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Insomnia (ACT-), both which are effective, non-drug approaches to chronic sleep issues. As a member of the Canadian Sleep Society, I’m always learning about the latest sleep research. This means my clients get help that’s based on the most up-to-date science, not just guesswork.

Who I Help at Quadra Wellness

At Quadra Wellness, I work with all sorts of people dealing with sleep issues:

  • People who feel anxious and  “wired but tired” all day and night and still can’t sleep
  • New parents who can’t remember the last time they slept through the night
  • Professionals whose minds are still racing at bedtime
  • People whose trauma, depression, or anxiety is messing with their sleep
  • Shift workers trying to sleep when the rest of the world is awake

Bringing Better Sleep to the Workplace

I’ve also got a soft spot for helping improve sleep in the workplace. Let’s face it, in our always-on world, a lot of companies are realizing that zombie employees aren’t doing anyone any favors. I run workshops and programs to help businesses create a culture that actually values sleep. The result? Happier, more productive teams that aren’t mainlining coffee just to get through the day.

How I Work

I’m proud to be a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in good standing with both the British Columbia College of Social Workers and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. My approach is all about teamwork. Sure, I can bring the sleep science and therapy techniques, but you’re the expert on your own life. Together, we’ll figure out what’s really keeping you up at night and find ways to fix it that actually fit into your life. No one-size-fits-all solutions here.

The Person Behind the Sleep Therapist

When I’m not helping people sleep better, I’m a dad who knows firsthand how precious a good night’s rest can be. I’m also a bit of a geek about sleep gadgets and love keeping up with the latest sleep tech. All of this helps me stay grounded in the real-world challenges of getting good sleep in our busy lives.
