Profile picture

As a therapist specializing in treating sleep difficulties and anxiety, I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work from the University of Victoria. I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in good standing with the British Columbia College of Social Workers, and Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, the provincial regulatory bodies that protects the public by establishing and supporting high standards for qualified social work professionals.

I have extensive experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and other evidence-based strategies to improve sleep quality. With a focus on evidence-based practice, I am a member of the Canadian Sleep Society and stay connected to the latest research, tools, and resources in the field.

My therapeutic philosophy is centred around the core belief that people are capable of change, growth, and reflection. I work collaboratively with my clients in a non-judgmental, compassionate, and respectful manner to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their specific sleep concerns.

In addition to my specialized training in sleep therapy and coaching, I have extensive counselling, mental health treatment, assessment, and advocacy experience with people across the lifespan, from youth to older adults. I have worked in various settings, including neighbourhood houses, community centres, outpatient mental health, and community-based mental health settings, in addition to specialized care settings with older adults, LGBTQ+ identified people and individuals with severe mental health and substance use issues (concurrent disorders).

As a social worker and therapist, I bring a social justice lens into therapy, recognizing that counselling and therapy are not solutions to all problems. The goal of therapy should never be to help people adjust to oppression, and I aim to welcome clients to a friendly, inclusive practice that supports their mental wellness.

In my non-work life, I am a dad, an avid reader, and exercise regularly (mainly for a better night’s sleep and to keep up with my energetic kid!). I also have a keen interest in wearable technology, behavioural sleep science, and mental wellness.
